Are you a target driven, ambitious account management or sales professional with experience in the food industry and an approach focused around the needs of your customers?

About the opportunity

As a UK Account Manager, you will be responsible for the management and development of existing accounts as well as the prospecting, nurturing and closing of profitable new business opportunities.

Reporting to the Commercial Director and working strategically with the wider sales team, you will work to an annual sales target, maintaining minimum margins as required and take on accountability for opening a minimum number of accounts each year.

The majority of your time (3-4 days per week) will be spent visiting existing or target customers and this will include overnight stays where necessary. Outside of that time, you will be working to efficiently manage accounts, provide accurate sales forecasts and target/win new business.

About you

Sales and/or account management experience in the food industry (ideally 3 or more years) is essential to your success in the role, as is a target driven, naturally ambitious mentality. Strong communication skills, a high level of accuracy and the confidence to build and develop relationships are all essential too of course.

You will be an enthusiastic person with a proactive approach to your work, a customer-centric approach to sales and the dedication to work to deadlines and within timeframes while still producing high-quality work.

Finally, you’ll hold a minimum Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate and a full, clean UK driving license.
